Apple’s marketing department grows balls
Tonight I was browsing Apple’s Website and noticed a new section entitled “Which Mac are You?” aimed specifically at people switching to Macs. The section also focuses heavily on dispelling the common Mac myths. I browsed a bit to get a little taste of what Apple’s marketing department has been up to. When I went to another page entitled, “Next Year’s OS Today”, I was shocked to see at the bottom of the page an inconspicuous link to Paul Thurrott’s article, “Where Vista Fails”.
I know this isn’t a technology blog, so please bear with me as I explain why I think this is so interesting.
Paul Thurrott, if you don’t already know, is one of the most well-known Microsoft advocates in the technology arena. Rarely ever has he written a negative review of a Microsoft product; however, on April 19 Thurrott released part five of his Windows Vista review entitled, “Where Vista Fails.” I was shocked. Previously, he had always deflected Vista’s shortcomings. Now, finally, the Vista project has become so botched that Thurrott has no choice but to write a realistic review of Vista’s downfalls.
What I find so interesting is that Apple actually has the balls to link their site to a pro-Microsoft blog, almost as if to say, “See! Even fan-boy Thurrott knows that Apple’s OS is more advanced!”
By-the-way, Thurrott, stop using FrontPage. You’re code looks like crap.
